The Milestone Initiative

A program to empower the next generation of Black and diverse creators to tell the stories of Black heroes.

DC and Milestone Media have partnered with Ally to introduce The Milestone Initiative. Its goal is to identify, educate, highlight, and empower the next generation of Black and diverse comic industry creators. The aim is to ensure that the stories of the future are a genuine representation of the world we live in. This initiative has been created to assist storytellers in producing stories in resonant, real, and revolutionary ways.

Milestone understands that empowering new voices is a path to new ideas, more powerful role models, and deeper wells of inspiration for future creators. The visual identity reflects that sentiment. The pop of vibrant, bold colors and the layering of inkblots in this approach conveys dynamic creative force and energy—the spark that ignites when emerging artists are able to change the narrative and tell their own story.
